You Are Loved
Several years ago, I read a survey taken in one of our national prisons by psychologists of prisoners in an attempt to determine why they had turned to crime. Through the years, I have forgotten the city and prison, but I have never forgotten the basic reason given. The overwhelming majority said that they felt unloved by their families and friends. This made an impact on my mind of how important it is to love one another and show that love.
Perhaps you have, at times, felt unloved and feeling unloved, you had no reason or motivation to live right. The old cliché is, "since no one cares about what I do, why should I care?: But, someone does care.
The greatest motivation in life and self-worth is to know that God loves and cares for you. God's love includes all people, regardless of circumstances, social status, or race. In John 3:16, Jesus said, "God so loved the world, (this includes ;you) that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
God's love for you is unconditional, there is nothing that you can do that will keep Him form loving you. By nature, "God is love", and He loves you in spite of your failures and sins. He will lovingly forgive you of all your sins. In 1st John, 1:9, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us of all our sins and to cleanse us from all our unrighteousness.
God's love is uncondemning. God's love for us does not condone or excuse our sins and failures. He does not condemn us. Jesus said in, John 3:17, "God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved."
His love is eternal and everlasting because God Himself is eternal. His love knows no bounds or limits. There is no interval between His loving and His not loving you.
You can of a truth say, I am loved. Someone cares for me. What I do matters to my Heavenly Father.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I have sinned against your holiness, your love, and your Son, Jesus. I ask Your forgiveness of all my sins and ask You to cleanse me from my unrighteousness. In Jesus name. Thank you Father. I accept Your forgiveness and receive Jesus Christ into my heart and life.
